I went to get my driver's license renewed yesterday and they took my picture, handed me my driver's license and said have a nice day. Like in it is free of charge. when you get old in Oklahoma (65) you no longer have to pay for your license. At least I got something out of all the free money around.

I think that is great. Here in MS, you don't have to pay property tax after 65. Hunting/fishing license are also free.

That is a much better deal than we have here. I may need to move to MS if I can afford the housing there. I don't think I can get Mrs. Okie to move. I have tried that before.

Mississippi is a very poor and uneducated state, quite often bringing up the rear in most statistical categories.

X2, often last in teacher pay, last in much more. The casinos have taken over much of the gulf coast. There is not much to do in the rest of the state.

But, how is the soil? If I can garden I am totally happy. Besides no property tax would certainly ease my budget every year. I might be able to afford a vacation a little more often.

House I built in Columbia had to have the grass cut twice a week. The soil was black and could grow anything. Here in Madison, all clay. Expands with rain to the point it rips houses apart. Then contracts until there are huge cracks in the yard. No grow here!

Oh yah, another benefit here in MS. I finally registered my 1963 Patrol today. Total cost ~$74. That gets me the title and an antique tag that doesn't have to be renewed or replaced ever again. No more license plate fees on this one.
