Random Pics.....
That is an awesome looking car! Have any pics of the engine?
05 Nissan Frontier 4x4, Stillen SuperCharger, BFG AT's Tongue
It was an all Nissan/Datsun gathering. Tons of Zs, 240sx's and loads of 510s. Some oddball cars like the datsun 2000. Truck category was pretty sad: one R50 pathyfinder with 22" wheels 171

Thank you for sharing the old pictures, especially the 1600 roadster. I had a 1975 280Z I bought new and I had a 1968 2000 roadster I bought when it was 5 years old. I should have kept the 2000 as it was a very fun and fast car. There were only 15,718 of them made between latter part of 1967 and 1970 when they ceased production.

If you are able to find a copy of The Complete Datsun Guide by Michael Hollander you can see the 2000 in front of my home on page 137. The 1200 on page 132 belonged to one of my friends. The 280Z on page 127 was also taken in front of my home.

Mike was also the editor of DATSUNEWS and used to come to OKC whenever they were having races at Hallett. Sorry to get off topic, but that is what you get when you remind an old person of things that once were.

Yeah, at first I thought it said you were 5..... anyway yeah, that show was awesome. Im sorry I didnt take more pictures, there were tons more cars. Me and my dad are looking to buy an old Z to restore. We found a 260, the guy had it since 75 (obviously it was 1 year old) frame rails are rotted out. $400 probably lower. very tempting but alot of work.

Oh, and there was a 240z with a skyline RB26DETT in it... I cant even imagine......

A few years back, I ran across a 72 240Z in Auto Trader from Birmingham, AL. 88,000 original miles for $4000. I watched it for 3 months. Then thought about calling the next time I went to B'ham...not in the Trader anymore. I've regretted it ever since. I was not quit able to buy an extra vehicle at the time.

Nardo Ring, Italy

The Nardo Ring is a striking visual feature from space, and astronauts have photographed it several times. The Ring is a race car test track that is steeply banked to reduce the amount of active steering needed by drivers. The Ring lies in a remote area on the heel of Italy's "boot," east of the naval port of Taranto and encompasses a number of active (green) and fallow (brown to dark brown) agricultural fields. In this zone of intensive agriculture, farmers gain access to their fields through the Ring via a series of underpasses. Winding features within the southern section of the Ring appear to be smaller, unused race tracks.

Discovery Descending

In high bay 3 of the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center, a crane lowers space shuttle Discovery toward the external tank and solid rocket boosters already stacked on the mobile launcher platform. The stacking and mating took place in preparation for the launch on the STS-124 mission to the International Space Station.

Discovery is targeted to launch May 31. Navy Cmdr. Mark E. Kelly will command the STS-124 shuttle mission to deliver the Pressurized Module and robotic arm of the Japanese Experiment Module, known as "Kibo" (hope).

Lake Naivasha, Kenya

Outside the ground is frozen, quite possibly covered in snow and ice, and yet, stroll through a supermarket in North America or Europe in February, and you'll be confronted with large displays of roses. We expect flowers in winter, and Kenya helps meet those expectations. Straddling the equator, Kenya gets steady sunlight dealt out in days that vary little in length. It's the perfect climate for flowers year-round. The center of Kenya's flower industry is Lake Naivasha, shown here.

Bright white squares mix with fields of green, tan and purple along the shores of the lake. Sunlight glints off the long rows of glass greenhouses, turning them silvery blue and white in this view from space. Fallow fields are tan and pink, while growing plants turn the ground bright green. Roses, lilies and carnations are the most common flowers grown in the greenhouses and fields scattered around the lake.

The flowers provide an important source of income to Kenya, but the industry comes with a price. Flowers are not held to the same standards for chemical residues as food products. Strong chemical pesticides can be used on the flowers to produce the perfect, pest-free bloom, and this could pose a health risk to workers and local wildlife, including hippos, environmental groups told the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 2002. The chemicals may also threatened the water quality of Lake Naivasha, one of Kenya's few freshwater lakes. The Kenya Flower Council instituted a code of conduct establishing guidelines for pesticide that phases out the use of one of the most toxic pesticides.
