I am ready for this election to be over. I have not seen a respectable campaign commercial in quite some time. It makes me sick to see how much money is wasted on negative adds and distractions from the real issues. As far as the mainstream media is concerned, it is already over anyway. They already have the electorate vote going to Obama. I think the campaigning should be held to 6 months out at the most. Any negative adds should be fined and the proceeds given to the other party. Our economy hurting, and the campaign $$$ could be better used elsewhere!
I voted already, so it is over as far as I am concerned. I change the channel as soon as I see any political ads at this point.
One more week.

Just to be clear though, there is just a less wrong and a more wrong decision, there is definitely not a right decision anywhere to be had during this election.

the only thing i fear in this election is that i fell that the masses think that whoever wins the election will be able to help "cure" this recession and then blame him when he can't do anything about it. so in the end whoever wins, lose. just my thought don't take my word for it i know more about cars than politics....

But I have to read up on all the props.
I was watching the news tonight, and was amazed at all the political commerical crap on TV.......Vote Yes for this.......Vote No for that....
I swear....Every commerical tonight was political!
I think all the $$ put into the political commericals and Propaganda could be used in another way!

I agree with you, but extend it to all campaigns. Think how much could be given to do actual good in one way or another; neighborhood playgrounds, senior citizen centers, school improvements, etc. Yes, I know a lot of it is donations. I'm just referring to use of money here in the states, or rather, the misuse of money.

Well, I am not a citizen, so I can't vote, but why don't the rest of you start a movment to make it illegal to get contributions for campaining. The only money that they can spend is their own. Or even better, get it so that they have to match, dollar for dollar, every bit they spend on the campaign to go towards things like education and so forth. That way the more they spend, the more they help out those who really do need it.
Finally, can you make it so that negative campaigning is illegal? If they do it, they are automatically removed from the race and politics for their lifetime. It might make it so that they have to actually tell you what they are campaigning for and not what the other is not doing or has not done. I have seen all the adds and stuff and I could not tell you what the plans of either one are for the country.
It is just my opinion, but it is one of the few things that Bush has allowed us to keep.
Did you notice the source? The Hindu News Update Service! This guy scares me more than a little. I have heard many Antichrist references made from different sources. The Bible says the Antichrist will rule for 1290 days, I think it was. I looked it up the other night. Anyway, that would be 3.5 years, sometime into 2012, the same year the Mayan calender ends. The Bible says nobody will know the time or day, but there will be signs that indicate the end is near.
Anyway, I am not a study of prophecy, but thought I would share this little tidbit of information that keeps coming up in several places.
Why did he write a book praising his Muslim father who left him at an early age and seldom had anything to do with him since? And yet, he never mentions his mother who raised him the best she could. Why did he ask Columbia University and Harvard not to release any info about his time at their institutions, academic or extra curricular? When you apply for a job, don't your academic accomplishments help determine if you get the job? What is he hiding? While I like some of his ideas, I am very uneasy with him. I feel he is hiding his real agenda.
At the same time, I am not totally happy with McCain either. I guess those that would make a great President aren't interested.

Or, have one pot of campaign money divided equally among the candidates? With only 6 months campaigning allowed, not 2 years. Our political system is governed by the lawyers that make the laws. So, naturally, the laws will benefit them.
