So i finally bought a truck. Ive always been a small ricer burner honda type of guy. Although i did own a Nissan 350z at one point but got rid of it. Ive always wanted a truck and really liked the Frontier so i bought it. Although i went cheap and bought the XE king cab model which im fine with. I plan on upgrading to a 4X4 V6 sometime in the future.

A 4 cylinder will go just as fast as a 6, if you are the speedy type. You should look into custom tuning.
You could make your own CAI, they aren't that hard, people with 4 cylinder frontier have done it. And of course you could go custom on the exhaust.

Welcome to the Spot. I traded my 2000 XE KC in on a 2005 LE KC. While I love my truck and enjoy the V-6, if the price of gasoline continues to climb I may wish I still had my XE. I had a very nice sounding exhaust on my 2000, although it was a little too loud when I was on road trips. Keep us updated on your mods as you do them.

thanks guys. yea its the main reason why i got a 4cyl. Instead of the V6. But eventually i want to trade it in for a 4x4....but im more of a off road type of guy now. The speedy me was the young me. Im getting old and really am getting into going to the out doors and camping and stuff like that.

Welcome to the Spot. You don't have to have 4X4 to off road. Got a buddy, not around here that often anymore, that will go head to head with anybody. Not shy of a tug here or there when needed. Just a little more skinny pedal on occasion.

welcome! your truck has great potential even if it is a 4x2 or a 4cyl. it just depends on how far you are willing to mod it...

The 4clyinder 2wd XE makes a great Pre-running start. Its lightweight and worth its gold on the soft stuff due to this. A longtravel suspension with a good tune& some quick thinking and your set

yea ive been giving it some thought. maybe ill just stick it out with the XE. I really like it. I have some plans for it. Suspension wise. and Tires with new wheels.
