Is their any way to check the fluid level in a transmission?

I still get rough shifting and a little bit of grinding with the clutch smacking the floor.

Edit: Correct Fluid Levels can also be found on this link.

Of course there is. There should be a plug on the side of the transmission to check the level. Make sure you're on a level surface. It should be in your owner's manual.
Is that the same plug where you pour the transmission fluid in? So if the transmission fluid is overflowing, that means it's full and at correct level?
Straight from factory service manual:

I would have to say yes. That's the way it was on my 95 KC.
Thanks you guys. That's what i did with the transfer case...should of known. Now i just need to know how many quarts are needed for a tranny flush.

Do either of you know how much a tranny flush goes for on our trucks?
Ok, so i found out that manuals don't do flushies. Automatic requires 11 quarts and manual requires 4.5 quarts. So the only way to clean out the inside of a manual is by dropping it and taking it apart or put some special fluid into the system and running it for however many miles needed. Thanks!
Update
I drained the Valvoline transmission fluid out and replaced it with AMSOIL. It works GREAT! Smooth shifting on cold starts and throughout the entire day. I am very satisfied! The factory fluid wasn't as bad as Valvoline, but i think it's non-synthetic. It's rumored that the dealerships transmission oil is different from factory transmission oil and my plan was to get that, until the dealership asked $22.50 per quart.

Remember to fill with GL-4 75w-90 or 75w-85
Glad it worked out. Replacing a tranny can't be cheap!
