I just added a simple shoutbox to the bottom of every page on the site. I don't know yet if it'll be a permanent feature or not. Basically, it's a simple mini chatbox that appears above the footer on all pages of the site. Try it out and let me know what you think.
The shoutbox is popular on TitanSpot, so I decided to try one here.

Could you make a small change bl? Maybe add a sound feature, everytime somebody shouts, or make the entire forum dim? Something to notify the other members.

There's not much I can do to this shoutbox. It's a pre-made modification written by someone else. I can see if it's possible to add a smilies box (they work now if you know the bbcode) but sound and/or dimming aren't really possible.
As for the position of the shoutbox, I'm generally opposed to it being on top. I think that a shoutbox should be more of an afterthought on a forum. The bulk of conversations should be in threads on a forum.
The shoutbox has been updated with some extra goodies (smilies, a popup version, mycode aka bbcode, and colored text). Enjoy!
The popup version works now (in case you tried it earlier and it didn't). I forgot to upload a file...duh!

It isn't working for me! I put in a shout, and all it says is...."Loading" It worked fine before, I cleared my cookies....etc.
Is anyone else having the same problem as Sandi? I'm still trying to figure out what is causing her problem and to see if it's limited to just her...
