Rear differential oil change for the C200 rear axle. Some Frontiers have a Dana 44 which has different capacities and requires different tools.

Most differential plugs just use a 3/8 ratchet drive to remove the drain and filler plugs. This rear end (2005 4x4 LE) required a 10mm allen for the drain plug and a 14mm allen for the fill plug. I did not have a 14mm allen so I went to Harbor Freight tools and bought a 3/8 drive plug set.

Remove upper fill plug (14mm) before you drain the differential oil to make sure you can get it off to refill the diff.

Very nice write up Kev. Have you changed the front diff fluid on Sandi's truck?

Nope, rear diff has 19k miles on it. Front diff been used off road maybe 100 miles or so. I will change it soon if for nothing else but to add another "how to" for the Spot. 166
But, without manual front hubs, it still turns. And, Sandi has more than 19K surely. I'm at 29K in only 16 months.

Sheesh, shows you how much I know. I guess I will have to change the front diff oil now too. She only has 19,534 on the od. OH well, another few bucks down the drain but another good how to for the spot....
Thanks for the write up. I have 21k on mine I guess it is time to do it on the next oil change at 24k.
