Ok, this is driving me crazy, If I click on a website that someone posts, It takes me completely away from the frontyspot. I have to click the back button to get back to frontyspot, and it closes the web page. Did that make sense? I don't understand why when I click on a posted website that it doesn't open another window.
are you using internet explorer?
if your using IE:
Im not sure how to change that since I use mozilla. You can SHIFT+click to open a link in a new window IIRC
*edit* just fooled around with IE and found it.
Tools
Internet Options
In the General Tab, near the bottom there is a heading "Tabs"
Click settings
The last one the that page is the one you need
Click the "in a new window" bubble
Mozilla Firefox:
Tools>options
First choice is:
New pages should be opened in:
-New Window
-New Tab
click whichever you prefer

Yeah, using Explorer....I never had that problem before, I would click on a site that someone posted and it would open a new window and go to the site.
Did the way I posted work?

Well, this is supposedly the new web standard (not opening links in a new window or tab). The reason is that the user has a choice.
In IE7 or Firefox:
To open in a new window: Hold down Shift when you click a link
To open in a new tab: Hold down Ctrl when you click a link

Cool, Thanks, it works! Glad I asked, because it was driving me crazy

Or, right click and choose new window or, in Firefox, new tab.
Sandi, have you tried Mozilla Firefox? I prefer it over IE. I like working with tabs.
IE 7 now has tabs I just found out. I still use FF though.

IE7 is basically a Firefox clone.....and a poor one from my perspective. Firefox isn't perfect by any means, but I've been using it for several years now and just couldn't see myself moving back to IE...though I basically have to use it at work.

Same here. Work is out of my control, but I've been using FF for several years at home. I'm more skeered of Bill Gates' prying eyes than anything else. I run into things from time to time that require me to use IE, but it's right back to FF as soon as possible.
I actualy went to the trouble of obtaining a variance to be able to use Firefox at work on my current job. I'm a web developer right now and Firefox just has a much much better built in script debugger. My new job, which I will be starting on the 16th, is not web development so I probably won't be able to get the variance. I hate IE....
Heres what you got to do. Theres an IE plugin for FF. Makes firefox seem like an internet god. When something looks wierd in FF or isnt loading right, you just right click the tab and click switch rendering engine, and it reopens the page in firefox, but using IE's program codes. I cannot use anything but FF
