A couple of weeks ago I smelled that horrible sweet smell after driving our Frontier. I found my wife's truck low on coolant.. I found one loose clamp.

Then this week I found more loose/crappy OEM clamps leaking..

Here is the deal...

Intake has 3 hoses leading to it..

1- goes to master cylinder (why? I dont know)

2- goes to the PCV valve. Why a V-6 has only one PCV valve for 2 valve covers is beyond me. My VK has 2... 179

3- goes to the other side of the block to what looks like an evap line.. Dunno..

I plan on adding a catch can to the Frontier real soon.. There is a guy with a S/D'd Titan on another board that pulled his blower off and was full of sludge... I am going to intercept this hose with a catch can..

I hope this will prevent any future potential problems..

Just like my Titan, chech your crappy OEM clamps... Better yet just replace them....
Ugh, I hate those screwy "clamps" they use. After a while (just like you've seen) they lose their elastic properties and fail to clamp anymore. I use the same ones you replaced yours with.. the ones you can actually tighten. 185
The vacuum line that you think is going to the master cylinder is actually going to the vacuum brake booster chamber. That is what provides the power to your power brakes. Inside that chamber is a large vacuum diaphram that does all the work.

Considering how many leaks you found, I suggest you test, or replace the pressure cap as a point of maintenance.
